Imiquad Cream is commonly used to treat genital warts, known as Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). It is also used as a treatment of precancerous skin lesions, known as actinic keratosis. It works by increasing the body's immune system to fight viral infections. While there are no cures for HPV or skin cancer, the cream is effective at treating the warts or lesions without scarring the skin.
How to use
Wash your hand before and after application of Generic Aldara (Imiquad). Apply a thin layer of Generic Aldara (Imiquad) to affected area 3 times weekly. A sachet of cream should last the 3 applications. Rub the cream into the skin until no more cream is visible. Once the cream is applied do not cover the skin. The cream should be left on the skin for 6 to 10 hours before gently washing the area with a mild soap and water. The recommended application is 3 times weekly at equivalent schedule.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Imiquad Cream, take as soon as possible. Do not double doses.
Storage
Store Imiquad Cream below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Imiquad Cream out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Warnings/Precautions
Pregnant women should not use Generic Aldara (Imiquad). Avoid sexual contact while Generic Aldara (Imiquad) on the skin. Generic Aldara (Imiquad) is known to weaken latex rubber condoms, diaphragms and cervical caps causing them not to work properly to prevent pregnancy. Avoid using other skin products while using Generic Aldara (Imiquad). Use Generic Aldara (Imiquad) as directed.
Possible Side Effects
Side affects are considered uncommon. However you may experience:
fungal infections
swelling or pain in the area where Generic Aldara (Imiquad) was applied
blisters on the skin
headaches
fever
muscle or joint pain
redness
burning/flaking of the skin
itching

Imiquad Cream is manufactured by Glenmark, India.This medication is used to treat certain types of growths on the skin. These include precancerous growths (actinic keratoses), a certain type of skin cancer (superficial basal cell carcinoma), and warts on the outside of the genitals/anus. Treating these conditions can decrease complications from them. Imiquimod belongs to a group of drugs called immune response modifiers. It is believed to work by helping to activate your immune system to fight these abnormal skin growths.
